• It's time for your lawn's spring fertilization.

• Start planting summer annuals (such as periwinkle).

• Fertilize lawn areas again.
• Make applications to kill weeds.
• Maintenance activities are at full swing.
• Pruning bushes begins.

• Cut grass to appropriate height.
• Trim and edge all lawn areas as needed.
• Prune bushes to present a neat appearance.
• Fertilize all lawn areas and spot spray for weeds.
• Begin spraying for grassy weeds and nutsedge.

• Summer fertilization.
• Your lawn should be getting approximately one inch of water per week.
• Lawn should be cut a little higher this time of year.

• Begin early fall pre-emergence applications to prevent broadleaf weeds and annual bluegrass.

September

• Aerate now before applying a fall winterizer.
• Fall pre-emergents can still be applied.
• Fall leaf cleanup begins.  Usually needs to be done at least every two weeks this time of year.
• Continue mowing.
• Plant fall annuals (such as pansies, snapdragons, dianthus, ornamental cabbage, and kale).
